President & Chief Executive Officer

About the role

The National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) is seeking a visionary President & CEO to lead its advocacy, knowledge, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Board of Directors and managing a small dedicated team, you will shape the national profile of Canada’s aviation sector and drive policy engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen NACC’s advocacy efforts and raise its visibility with government, industry, and the public.
• Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to member airlines on safety, security, environmental, labour, and competition issues.
• Monitor public policy discussions, contribute to regulatory development, and represent the council in consultations.
• Act as the primary spokesperson, managing stakeholder relationships and media engagements.
• Oversee internal administration, ensuring effective team performance and alignment with the board’s strategic direction.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in government relations, advocacy, or a national industry association.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage high‑level stakeholder networks.
• Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of policy and regulatory processes.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Bilingual (English/French) and able to work near Ottawa.
