Powerline Technician – Term Assignment in Turks & Caicos

About the role

We are looking for experienced Powerline Technicians to join Valard Construction on a short‑term assignment in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The role involves constructing, maintaining and repairing both overhead and underground distribution networks for a utility client, with a start date in July/August 2026 and ending in December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate and maintain overhead and underground power cables, vaults, conduits and related equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting, fault locating and repairs on distribution systems, including emergency outage response.
• Operate specialized tools such as cable pulling rigs, fault locators, splicing kits and test instruments.
• Conduct switching and grounding of high‑voltage equipment in line with safety standards.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, single‑line diagrams and cable maps.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and test results.

Required profile

• Journeyperson Powerline Technician certification (apprentices in their 4th year may be considered).
• Proven experience with power distribution systems and strong knowledge of electrical theory.
• Valid driver’s licence and passport for international travel.
• Ability to work at heights, in trenches and confined spaces.
