About the role
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Postal Clerk / Front Store Clerk to join our Calgary pharmacy team. The role combines mail handling duties with front‑store customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and handle inquiries courteously.
- Sort, batch, and process incoming and outgoing mail accurately and on time.
- Assist customers with mail‑related services, verify addresses, postage, and packaging requirements.
- Sell stamps, receive letters, process MoneyGram transactions, and calculate postage for letters and parcels.
- Operate computer systems for data entry and transaction processing.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying as needed.
- Operate the cash register, stock shelves, keep aisles tidy, and support various front‑store duties.
- Follow store policies on security, shoplifting, and lottery ticket handling.
- Monitor cash levels, anticipate change needs, and request cash pickups.
- Develop product knowledge, merchandise items using shelf labels, rotation, and facing techniques.
- Manage allocated sections, notify buyers of out‑of‑stock items, and assist with inventory maintenance.
- Support seasonal displays, promotional setups, and assist the Front Store and Pharmacy Managers as required.
- Handle difficult customer situations with tact, escalating complaints when necessary.
Required profile
- Accurate cash handling with strong computer and POS proficiency.
- Previous customer service or cashier experience preferred; retail and merchandising experience an asset.
- Clear, courteous communication skills and ability to manage conflict.
- Strong multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Professional demeanor, appropriate grooming, and name‑tag wear.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform lifting, bending, and reaching tasks.
- Availability for varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Criminal record check required.

What we offer
- Hourly wage of $15.50 (CAD)
- Part‑time schedule: Saturdays 9 am‑5 pm and Sundays 11 am‑3 pm, with additional shifts as needed.
