Pool Shift Supervisor (Level I‑III)

About the role

The City of Brooks is seeking a Pool Shift Supervisor to join its Recreation Services Aquatics Division. You will work at the JBS Canada Centre, supporting a vibrant community that values health, wellness, and inclusive recreation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver pool programming and instruction.
• Oversee pool operations, maintenance, custodial duties, and troubleshooting.
• Supervise lifeguard staff and act as a lifeguard when needed.
• Teach Red Cross and Life Saving courses and specialized aquatic programs.
• Assist the Aquatic Supervisor in developing and implementing aquatic programming.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Relevant experience ranging from six months to four years, depending on the level.
• Relevant certifications as specified for Level I, II, or III (e.g., National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, Water Safety Instructor).

Required skills

• National Lifeguard Certificate.
• National Lifesaving Instructor Certificate.
• Water Safety Instructor Certificate.
• Pool Operator Level 1 Certificate or Advanced Pool Operator Certificate.
• SCBA training and certification.
• Standard First Aid Certificate.
• WHMIS Certification (asset).
