Platform Trailer Operator

About the role

Join a team that builds, lifts and moves some of the largest loads across North America. As a Platform Trailer Operator at Barnhart, you will operate conventional and hydraulic trailers to safely and efficiently move critical loads from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret transport plans to execute assigned moves safely.
• Assemble, configure and prepare heavy‑haul and hydraulic trailer systems.
• Perform pre‑operational inspections and ensure equipment complies with safety standards.
• Secure loads within equipment limits and operate platform trailers on simple and complex projects.
• Pilot over‑dimensional loads when required and communicate with team members and customers.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract.
• 1–3 years experience operating trailers or hydraulic platform trailers.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to stay alert in demanding environments.
• Effective communication and good judgment in emergency situations.
• Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment repairs.

Required skills

• Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Hydraulic trailer operation.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs.
