Plant Operator – 1 Year Contract

About the role

Our client, a major oil and gas company, is seeking an experienced Plant Operator for a 1‑year contract in Fort St. John, BC. The role follows a rotational schedule with flights provided, offering the chance to work in a dynamic plant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the plant continuously from the control room.
• Conduct surveillance of operating equipment and critical parameters while maintaining accurate logs.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and perform preventative inspections.
• Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate on implementing changes.
• Support and comply with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the gas industry.
• 4th Class Power Engineer certification.
• Technical/functional specialist with the ability to apply extensive knowledge to varied situations.
• Proven problem‑solving skills and ability to recommend solutions to complex issues.
