Plant Controller (Manufacturing)

About the role

The Plant Controller will provide financial leadership for one or more manufacturing facilities in Montreal. Acting as a strategic partner to operations and senior finance leaders, this role drives profitability, decision‑making and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own the preparation and execution of the annual budget and monthly forecasts, including earnings and cash flow.
• Ensure accurate, timely statutory and management reporting in line with corporate policies and local regulations.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity, overseeing inventory, fixed assets, provisions and working capital.
• Lead and develop the plant accounting team to deliver compliant financial data.
• Perform detailed cost and margin analysis to support cost discipline and profitability improvement.
• Partner with plant and operations leadership, providing data‑driven insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CA, CMA or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive financial experience, including leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of plant operations and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
