Pet Store Manager – Retail Operations Lead

About the role

Petland is seeking an energetic Pet Store Manager to lead daily operations at our Calgary location. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth, customer‑focused environment while driving sales and maintaining high standards of animal care.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control all daily store operations, including inventory, merchandising, and customer service.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate operational processes to meet performance targets.
• Manage a team of 11‑15 staff members, assign duties, and conduct performance reviews.
• Develop and monitor budgets, track revenues and expenses, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Determine staffing needs, recruit, hire, and supervise employees and volunteers.
• Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and supply shortages promptly.

Required profile

• Experience in retail or pet‑store management is an asset, though not mandatory.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and full days.
