About the role
The Athletics and Recreation department at McGill University is seeking a part‑time Personal Trainer to support members of the university community. Working primarily at the Currie Gymnasium, you will deliver individualized fitness services and contribute to a welcoming environment for clients, many of whom are women.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct fitness and body‑composition assessments.
- Design personalized training programs.
- Provide one‑on‑one personal training sessions.
- Lead small‑group training classes.
- Offer personalized tours of the gym facilities.
Required profile
- Current certification in Emergency/Standard First Aid and CPR‑C.
- Valid Personal Trainer certification (e.g., CanFit Pro, ISSA, NASM) or a current Kinesiology degree.
- Kinesiologist designation is an asset.
- High school diploma and at least three years of related experience.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- English communication skills assessed at level # on a 0‑4 scale.
