Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Open Availability

About the role

Compass Homecare is seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) with open availability to provide high‑quality, compassionate care to clients in their homes across the Greater Toronto Area. This casual, part‑time position offers flexible scheduling, including mornings, days, evenings, overnights and weekends, with shift lengths ranging from 3 to 12 hours.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility assistance.
• Assist with activities of daily living, prepare meals, and provide medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and accompany clients to appointments or community outings.
• Offer companionship, emotional support, and respite care for families.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and report any changes in client health or environment.

Required profile

• Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized Ontario program (NACC certification required for private career college graduates).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, valid Vulnerable Sector Check, and recent negative TB test or chest X‑ray.
• Reliable transportation and access to a mobile phone with internet.
• Proof of required immunizations (COVID‑19, MMR, Tdap, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
