Permanent Lunchtime Supervisor (CUPE 2331)

About the role

The York Catholic District School Board is seeking a Permanent Lunchtime Supervisor (CUPE 2331) to work at St. Clare in Woodbridge. Reporting to the school principal, you will ensure a safe, caring and positive environment for students during lunch periods. The position starts immediately and is scheduled for 5 hours per week over a 10‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise students both indoors and outdoors, monitoring their whereabouts and encouraging respectful, inclusive interactions.
• Communicate any concerns or incidents of misconduct to the principal and keep them informed of atypical situations.
• Prevent students from leaving the premises or entering restricted areas and support appropriate play.
• Assist with emergency procedures such as fire drills and attend required training sessions and staff meetings.

Required profile

• Education: Less than high school graduation plus additional training or education.
• Experience: Minimum of one month working with children.
• Competencies: Good communication, ability to respect confidentiality, and capacity to monitor multiple activities simultaneously.
