People & Culture Advisor

About the role

Engaged, a British Columbia HR consulting firm, is hiring a fully remote People & Culture Advisor. The role supports clients across Canada in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors, including unionized and non-unionized environments, with day-to-day HR support and HR projects. Applicants should live on Vancouver Island or in the Lower Mainland, with occasional travel to client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients' day-to-day HR needs, from employee questions to policy updates, and analyze HR issues with strategic recommendations
• Develop employee handbooks and HR documents, and support managers on employee relations issues
• Manage onboarding and offboarding, including benefits enrollment, and conduct exit interviews
• Help clients recruit and hire, from job posting to offer stage
• Contribute to HR projects and initiatives covering employee growth, workplace safety and organizational success
• Administer performance management and use HRIS programs to track employee data such as vacation and PTO
• Lead occupational health and safety initiatives and prepare HR documents and correspondence
• Manage shared email inboxes and respond to HR-related inquiries

Required profile

• Post-secondary degree, preferably in HR, business or a related field
• At least 2 years of HR-related experience, including internships and co-ops
• Curiosity, initiative and a genuine desire to learn
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with clients
• Organized, able to meet deadlines and balance competing priorities

Required skills

• Comfort with technology; HRIS or ATS experience is an asset
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve efficiency

What we offer

• Salary of CAD 63,000 to 75,000 per year
• Full-time, remote position
