Patrol Officer II – Campus Security

About the role

The Campus Security Patrol Officer II ensures the safety and protection of people and property across UBC’s Point Grey campus. This role combines visible patrol duties with first‑aid response, providing immediate care to students, faculty and staff while helping to prevent incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and treat First Aid calls on campus within the scope of Occupational First Aid Level 2, including transport to urgent‑care facilities when needed.
• Conduct regular patrols on foot, bicycle or vehicle, monitoring all university areas for safety, crime risk and property protection.
• Document incidents, write reports, and liaise with internal and external agencies on security and crime‑prevention matters.
• Maintain and inspect first‑aid equipment, AEDs, patrol vehicles and bicycles, ensuring readiness at all times.
• Provide escorts, after‑hours building access, and assist law‑enforcement personnel as required.

Required profile

• High school graduation plus completion of BC Securities Services Act training.
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification and a valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Physical and mental ability to perform duties, including emergency response and occasional plain‑clothes surveillance.
