Pastry Chef – Full-time Permanent Position

About the role

We are seeking an experienced pastry chef to lead our bakery and dessert operations at Beso Montreal in Mont‑Royal. The role involves creating new recipes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring high‑quality food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test new bakery and dessert recipes.
• Supervise and train a team of 3‑4 cooks, specialist chefs, and kitchen staff.
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• Analyze operating costs and recommend cost‑saving measures.
• Prepare and cook pastries and desserts for regular service and special events.
• Ensure compliance with Safe Food Handling and Food Safety certifications.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies, arrange equipment purchases and repairs.
• Accommodate customers with food allergies or intolerances.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP culinary education.
• 3 to 5 years of professional pastry experience.
• Safe Food Handling and Food Safety certificates.
• Dependable, organized, and a strong team player.
