Part‑Time Grocery Clerk – Sales & Service

About the role

Join Safeway’s Canmore store as a part‑time Grocery Clerk, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining an attractive sales floor.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process and merchandise dry, refrigerated and frozen goods on shelves and end‑cap displays.
• Build and maintain seasonal, perimeter and end‑cap displays according to presentation standards.
• Perform ordering, cycle counting, temperature checks and inventory control tasks.
• Keep the stockroom, walk‑in freezers, coolers and sales floor clean, organized and properly rotated.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper shelf labels for pricing, promotions and country‑of‑origin.
• Handle cash register duties: scan items, ensure correct pricing, process payments, balance registers and bag items.
• Perform minor repairs, clean floors, windows, parking lot and manage waste and cardboard recycling.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer‑service oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Available to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 kg.

Required skills

• Cash register system operation.
