Part‑Time Dietary Aide

About the role

Join Extendicare’s culinary team as a Dietary Aide, supporting residents with their meals while maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. This part‑time position works within a long‑term care setting, following established policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Serve meals according to individual diets, preferences and time limits, ensuring proper temperature.
• Assist cooks with basic food preparation such as salads, fruits, breakfast items and simple desserts.
• Clear plates, load and operate dishwashers, and clean pots, pans and utensils.
• Participate in proper storage, labeling of dietary supplies and leftovers.
• Assemble nourishment carts, stock unit kitchenettes and attend facility meetings and in‑service education.

Required profile

• Successful completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting Ontario LTC Home Act requirements.
• Current Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate to heavy loads and follow safety practices.
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
