Part‑Time Cashier – Retail Customer Service

About the role

Community Natural Foods is looking for a friendly, energetic part‑time Cashier to be the final point of contact for customers in our Calgary store. You will ensure smooth checkout experiences while representing the brand’s values of health, sustainability, and community.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer product questions and promote sales, promotions, and in‑store events.
• Process transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system, handling cash, debit/credit cards and gift certificates.
• Bag, box or wrap purchases, redeem coupons and maintain a clean checkout area.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints, escalating to a manager when necessary.
• Ensure correct pricing, report any technical issues with the till or pin pad, and follow cash handling procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma (preferred).
• 1‑2 years of retail experience with strong customer‑service skills.
• Excellent numerical literacy and high emotional intelligence.
• Positive attitude, high energy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexibly in a diverse team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS (point‑of‑sale) systems.
• Basic computer operation skills.
