Part-time Sessional Lecturer – Indigenous Land Stewardship

About the role

The University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship seeks a part‑time Sessional Lecturer (25% appointment) to teach ILS 203: Communication Tools in the Bachelor of Indigenous Land Stewardship program. The course runs from September 1 to December 31, 2026 and is delivered in a multi‑access format (in‑person and online).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures for ILS 203, both on‑site and via online platforms.
• Coordinate guest speakers and integrate their contributions into the curriculum.
• Design, assign, and grade assessments, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes.
• Facilitate class discussions, activities, and any lab components.
• Maintain regular office hours to support student progress.

Required profile

• Legal entitlement to work in Canada and residence in Canada for the appointment duration.
• Experience communicating complex information to diverse audiences, especially in land governance and Indigenous‑community contexts.
• Ability to teach in both in‑person and online environments.
