Part-Time Pharmacist – Clinical Coverage

About the role

The part‑time Pharmacist will report to the Director of Pharmacy Services and provide clinical pharmacy coverage across multiple units at Brant Community Healthcare System. This position focuses on ensuring safe and effective medication use without overnight or on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications and verify prescriptions in accordance with provincial regulations.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to optimise drug therapy and conduct medication reviews.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records, manage inventory, and oversee controlled substances.
• Support quality‑improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with health‑authority standards.
• Provide drug information and education to staff and patients as needed.

Required profile

• Registered Pharmacist in Ontario with a valid license from the College of Pharmacists of Ontario.
• Availability to work part‑time within a standard work week; no overnight or on‑call shifts required.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (e.g., Cerner, Meditech).
• Inventory management and controlled‑substance handling.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and drug‑interaction assessment.
