Part-Time Math & English Tutor (Grades 5‑8)

About the role

Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is looking for enthusiastic part‑time tutors to teach intermediate math and English to students in Grades 5‑8. The role starts in August 2026 and offers valuable classroom experience in a supportive learning centre.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons to up to three students simultaneously, both in‑person and online.
• Follow Oxford Learning’s proprietary teaching methodologies and philosophies.
• Complete post‑lesson notes and daily communication updates for each student.
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and foster a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Available Monday‑Thursday 4:00 pm‑8:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am‑2:00 pm.
• Commitment through the end of the term in June (summer continuation preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; fourth‑year university students with tutoring experience are also considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.

Required skills

• Strong written and oral English communication.
• Good knowledge of the Grade 5‑8 math and English curriculum.
• Ability to multitask and manage up to three students at a time.
