Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2

About the role

At Hot Topic we’re passionate about music, pop culture and delivering an amazing in‑store experience. We are looking for a Part‑Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 to help lead our busy mall store, supporting the Store Manager in meeting sales, recruiting and development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales plans and comparable sales targets.
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team.
• Create buzz and engage customers by promoting new products, using social media, BOPIS and curbside pickup.
• Provide leadership for operational excellence, balancing delegation, autonomy and customer‑first selling.
• Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours and associate schedules.
• Communicate trends and customer feedback with retail leadership and HQ partners.
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategies for hitting targets.
• Merchandise the store according to planograms and launch promotions on schedule.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of retail store management experience.
• Passion for music and pop culture.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
• Strong communication, recruiting and operational skills (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising).
• High school diploma or GED; post‑secondary degree is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast‑changing retail environment and handle physical tasks such as moving merchandise up to 50 lb.
