Outreach Support Worker

About the role

The Bissell Centre is seeking an Outreach Support Worker to join our community agency in Edmonton. In this role you will assist individuals experiencing homelessness by providing direct support, coordinating services, and ensuring safe living environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reports and case histories and perform general administrative tasks.
• Refer clients to community and social service programs and conduct follow‑up assessments.
• Assess clients’ skill strengths and development needs and develop coordinated service plans.
• Resolve conflict situations and supervise activities of clients living in group homes or halfway houses.
• Liaise with other social‑service agencies and health‑care providers involved with clients.

Required profile

• College diploma or equivalent (1‑2 years) in a relevant field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in community service or homeless outreach.
• Current First Aid Certificate and ability to pass criminal‑record and child‑welfare checks.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a client‑focused attitude.
• Initiative, organization, teamwork and the ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
