On‑Call Community Labour Pool – Various Tasks

About the role

Join the Seabird Island Band’s Community Labour Pool and help support a wide range of on‑call tasks that keep the community running smoothly. This flexible position allows you to gain new skills, earn supplemental income, and make a positive impact on local services.

Key responsibilities

• General labour such as snow removal, groundskeeping, gardening, driving and deliveries, packing and moving.
• Ticketed labour (requires certification) including janitorial work, maintenance, traffic control and security, and food preparation/serving.
• Clean‑up tasks for yards, homes, moving and warehouse assistance.
• Office support like filing, data entry and general administrative help.
• Special event assistance – set‑up, tear‑down, clean‑up and related shopping.
• Additional duties as needed to support Seabird Island operations.

Required profile

• Clear Criminal Record Check (renewed every five years) to ensure community safety.
• Commitment to the values, policies and standards of Sq'éwqel (Seabird Island Band).
• Relevant certifications for ticketed labour (janitorial, maintenance, traffic control/security, food handling).

Required skills

• Certification for janitorial work.

• Certification for traffic control and security.
• Food handling certification.
