Nursing Scheduling Clerk

About the role

The Nursing Scheduling Clerk supports the Vice President of Operations by ensuring that nursing staff schedules are accurate, compliant, and aligned with resident care needs. This full‑time position is based in Brampton, ON, and plays a critical role in maintaining smooth operations within a long‑term care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process requests for vacancy coverage and allocate relief staff.
• Call in relief staff to fill vacancies and work with other departments to identify staffing gaps.
• Maintain staff records, including contact information and availability.
• Oversee staffing systems such as current schedules, orientation rosters, casual rosters, and seniority lists.
• Ensure compliance with LTC regulations, collective agreements, and labour laws.
• Communicate schedule changes respectfully with staff and leadership.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of scheduling experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Experience creating master schedules and working with unionized employees.
• Proof of full COVID‑19 immunization and successful criminal/vulnerable sector screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
• Experience using ADP payroll software.
• Familiarity with Staff Schedule Care (SSC) system (preferred).
