Night Shift Production Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

The night shift Production Manager will lead high‑security print and finishing operations at our Ottawa facility. This permanent, full‑time position is responsible for meeting production targets while upholding strict quality, safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee night‑shift activities across multiple print and bindery/finishing processes.
• Deliver production targets, monitor yield, spoilage, throughput and downtime.
• Provide detailed shift reports and update the MES system.
• Maintain floor discipline, solve problems in real time and manage escalations.
• Coach frontline staff and leads, address performance issues and build accountable teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, security and union requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality, Security, Maintenance and Product Management to keep production flowing.
• Conduct clear, factual shift handovers.

Required profile

• Legally eligible to work in Canada and fluent in English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance.
• Willingness to work night shift.
• 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years people‑management experience in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with continuous‑improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and 5S.
