Millwright – Maintenance (Rotating Shift)

About the role

The Millwright will join the Maintenance team of a high‑speed distribution centre, ensuring that conveyor and material‑handling equipment operate safely and efficiently. This position works on a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule across two weeks, covering both day and night operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor, carton‑sorting and mobile equipment.
• Document all work in the CMMS and follow the preventive‑maintenance program.
• Set up and adjust machinery to meet current safety standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics, panel layouts and manufacturer manuals.
• Repair pallet racks, pick modules, dock components and other material‑handling assets.
• Assist with receiving inventory and replacement parts.
• Participate in trouble‑call response and help plan daily work schedules.
• Support the development of department talent and communicate effectively with peers and internal customers.

Required profile

• Journeyman Tradesperson, Interprovincial Red Seal, Registered Apprentice or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced, physically demanding setting.
• Functional French (written and spoken) required for residents of Quebec.

Required skills

• Knowledge of conveyor systems and carton‑sorting equipment.
• Familiarity with mobile material‑handling equipment used in distribution centres.
• Proficiency with CMMS for maintenance documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and panel layouts.
