About the role
Article is seeking a Merchandise Planner to own the end‑to‑end planning cycle for assigned categories. You will align inventory investments with sales goals, ensuring customers find the products they love in stock while supporting the company’s growth and profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain precise SKU‑level demand forecasts across all sales channels.
- Reconcile top‑down financial targets with bottom‑up inventory plans to set achievable OTB targets.
- Own Open‑to‑Buy execution, balancing product availability with overstock and stock‑out risk.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and performance drivers to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
- Track and report core KPIs such as sell‑through, inventory turn, and forecast precision.
- Partner with Sourcing and Order Management to align vendor capacity and production planning with real‑time demand.
- Identify and drive process automation opportunities to increase planning efficiency.
Required profile
- 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, demand planning, or related merchandising roles.
- Strong proficiency in retail math, Open‑to‑Buy execution, and pre‑season planning concepts.
- Excellent communication and proven ability to collaborate with finance, sourcing, and marketing teams.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada and able to pass a criminal background check.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Tableau for data visualization.
- Enterprise planning tools such as SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, John Galt, or Anaplan.
