About the role

Join the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform as an online Medical Terminology Tutor. You will work from home, setting your own schedule while helping students master medical vocabulary, word roots, and terminology essential for healthcare careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one virtual tutoring sessions focused on medical word roots, prefixes, suffixes, and body‑system terminology.
• Explain pronunciation rules, term construction, and clinical documentation language.
• Use the platform’s AI‑powered Tutor Copilot to generate lesson content and real‑time instructional support.
• Adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles, employing flashcards, system‑based organization, and document‑reading exercises.
• Invoice for completed sessions and receive payments up to twice per week.

Required profile

• Deep mastery of medical terminology, including roots, affixes, abbreviations, and anatomical directional terms.
• Ability to break down complex terms and connect vocabulary to clinical communication and patient care.
• Familiarity with common curricula and challenges faced by pre‑health, nursing, and medical coding students.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
