Media Relations Coordinator (Bilingual) – Ottawa

About the role

The Green Party of Canada seeks a bilingual Media Relations Coordinator to serve as the front‑line liaison with journalists, podcasters and influencers. Working from home in the Ottawa region, you will travel to Parliament Hill as needed to support media events and caucus activities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and coordinate press conferences for the Leader and caucus.
• Write, edit, translate and distribute press releases, advisories and statements in English and French.
• Build and maintain relationships with national English‑ and French‑language media, as well as podcasters, independent journalists and content creators.
• Identify earned‑media opportunities, pitch story ideas, and monitor legislative issues relevant to the Party.
• Manage media lists, correct misinformation, and ensure all communications align with the Party’s brand.

Required profile

• Fluent in both English and French, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passionate about climate action, social equity and Canadian democracy.
• Comfortable engaging with parliamentary reporters, podcast hosts and digital influencers.
• Highly motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently in a remote environment.
