Media Engagement Intern

About the role

Join Sony Music Entertainment Canada’s Media Engagement team as a Media Engagement Intern. You will support the team in tracking media coverage, distributing press assets, and identifying new media opportunities for our artists and campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and distribute daily media coverage reports, highlighting key stories and sentiment.
• Monitor, clip, and summarize press articles related to Sony Music artists and industry trends.
• Upload press releases and media assets to the Sony Music Canada website and other platforms.
• Research and identify emerging Canadian media outlets, digital platforms, and creators.
• Maintain up‑to‑date internal documents such as earned media records and contact lists.
• Respond to media requests by providing photos, biographies, press releases, and other materials.
• Assist the Media Relations team with ad‑hoc projects, event support, and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Music Business.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a professional, enthusiastic attitude.
• Familiarity with Canadian media outlets and basic public‑relations concepts.
• Strong written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Passionate about music and the entertainment industry.

• Paid internship at $17.75 per hour (CAD).
• Full‑time onsite experience (minimum four days per week, 9 AM‑5 PM).
