Mechanical Engineering Technician – Production Support

About the role

Michelin's Shawinigan plant, which assembles track systems for off-road vehicles (ATVs and UTVs), is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support production. Reporting to the Plant Director, the technician helps optimize processes and the reliability of production equipment, acts as a technical resource for production teams and takes part in continuous improvement, new technology implementation and technical issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize process parameters to improve production performance, quality and stability
• Program and adjust production equipment
• Support the implementation and start-up of new equipment and processes
• Lead the implementation and digitalization of a maintenance management system
• Analyze technical issues and recommend sustainable solutions
• Ensure the performance, robustness and reliability of production equipment
• Take part in failure analysis and problem-solving
• Help develop, industrialize and launch new products
• Support production teams with day-to-day technical challenges and contribute to continuous improvement projects

Required profile

• Diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar technical role
• Bilingual French and English, verbal and written
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good teamwork and communication
