Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training to support the design and delivery of mechanical building systems across a variety of projects in Toronto.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire‑protection systems and develop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform calculations such as heat‑gain/loss and energy modelling to size and select equipment.
• Prepare schematics, riser diagrams, equipment schedules and engineering reports while ensuring code compliance (OBC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
• Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical and structural teams and support specification and contract documentation.
• Attend client and internal meetings, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and conduct site audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered or working toward registration as an Engineer-in-Training.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving mindset and desire to obtain P.Eng. designation.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (Revit experience is an asset).
• Design of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑protection systems.
• Heat‑gain/loss calculations and energy modelling.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (OBC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
