Mechanical Design Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Technician to contribute to the creation of custom automated and robotic equipment. You will apply your technical expertise and creativity to develop mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems that meet client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate design concepts for automated machinery.
• Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks, including assembly and installation layouts.
• Select, source, and procure components and equipment.
• Coordinate manufacturing activities with subcontractors and oversee assembly and testing.
• Provide on‑site support during equipment installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• College‑level technical education with 5–10 years of experience in mechanical design of custom automation or robotics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Willingness to travel for commissioning and field support.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
• Knowledge of CSA Z432 and CSA Z434 machine safety standards.
