Masters and Triathlon Swim Instructor

About the role

The Masters and Triathlon Swim Instructor will support the Athletics and Recreation department in delivering high‑quality swim programs for adult and triathlon athletes at McGill University. Working under the immediate supervisor, the instructor will design and lead practices, provide technical coaching, and ensure a safe training environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare 1–1.5 hour practice sessions tailored to the level and theme of each workout.
• Deliver written workouts to groups of 15‑40 athletes and provide technical feedback on all four swim strokes.
• Conduct fitness assessments and track athlete progress.
• Enforce all safety guidelines and follow emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and safety incidents.

Required profile

• National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification and Standard First Aid certification.
• At least two years of coaching or teaching experience, preferably in competitive swimming.
• Experience coaching competitive swim athletes.
• Proficiency in both French and English.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract from September 2026 to April 2027.
