Marketing Strategist (Contract) – Calgary

About the role

True Insight Marketing is seeking a freelance Marketing Strategist based in Calgary to lead research‑driven brand and marketing initiatives. You will translate deep customer insights into clear strategic direction, helping clients move from scattered tactics to focused, evidence‑based plans.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, competitive analysis and digital analytics.
• Synthesize market segmentation findings into actionable customer insights and present them to clients.
• Develop positioning frameworks, value propositions and messaging architectures grounded in research.
• Lead brand discovery workshops and define naming or messaging direction when required.
• Define website and digital strategy objectives based on user behavior and collaborate with designers and developers to ensure strategic intent.
• Participate in client meetings, ask probing questions, and partner with project management to keep strategic work on track.
