About the role

The Managing Director of the Green Municipal Fund (GMF) and Climate Programs provides executive leadership for Canada’s premier municipal sustainability financing platform. Reporting to the senior leadership team, this role shapes the vision, strategy, and growth of GMF and related climate initiatives, ensuring measurable environmental, economic, and community outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall strategy for GMF and FCM’s climate programs.
• Lead portfolio strategy, investment direction, and performance monitoring.
• Manage relationships with federal partners, municipalities, and key stakeholders.
• Drive growth, innovation, and scaling of municipal climate action.
• Oversee financial stewardship, governance, risk management, and long‑term capital sustainability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in municipal finance, climate programs, or related public‑sector initiatives.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex portfolios and drive measurable outcomes.
