Manager of Marketing, Communications & Events

About the role

The Manager of Marketing, Communications & Events will lead NVIT’s marketing strategy, internal and external communications, and campus‑wide events. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Students, the role works closely with Enrolment Services and supervises an Events Planner and a Communication Planner.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the institutional marketing plan aligned with NVIT’s strategic goals.
• Create and manage internal and external communications, including press releases, advertising, op‑eds and digital content.
• Plan, coordinate and execute major campus events such as graduations, orientations and other large‑scale activities.
• Provide marketing, communications and events advice to departments, supporting public‑awareness campaigns and media relations.
• Evaluate and grow digital tools, social media channels and the NVIT website, applying current industry trends.
• Assist with emergency communications during crisis situations.
• Prepare an annual work plan, set short‑ and long‑term marketing strategies, and use data to guide campaign targeting.

• Demonstrated maturity, initiative and sound judgment in daily decision‑making.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
• Strong relationship‑building capabilities with faculty, staff, ministries and Indigenous leadership groups.
