Manager, Internal Reporting

About the role

Our client, a leading energy company in Calgary, is seeking a Manager, Internal Reporting to oversee monthly and consolidated financial reporting. This senior position works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and a team of CPAs to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly review of regional and consolidated financial reports.
• Ensure consistent application of corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Oversee the SAP BPC consolidation and planning system.
• Develop financial reports for regional and consolidated use.
• Support preparation and review of quarterly and year‑end financial statements.
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes.
• Supervise and mentor a team of four accounting professionals.
• Promote a culture of high performance, collaboration and communication.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• CPA designation (Canadian or International).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and complex accounting transactions.
• Proven supervisory or managerial experience.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate financial data for non‑financial stakeholders.
• Experience in multi‑jurisdictional, multi‑currency environments (preferred).
• Background in the oil & gas sector (preferred).
