Maintenance Technician – Equipment & Facility Maintenance

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure the reliability and performance of all plant equipment and facilities at our Charlottetown location. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on rotating and static equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Fabricate or modify tooling and components using lathe and mill equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain test equipment and instrumentation.
• Handle chemicals safely and conduct fluid analysis when required.
• Install, commission and source new production or facility equipment.
• Maintain inventory of consumables, spares and tooling.
• Identify and implement improvements to maintenance procedures to maximise uptime.

Required profile

• High school diploma (Grade 12) minimum; post‑secondary training in electromechanical technology preferred.
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
• Ability to lift 50 lb, work in confined spaces and operate a computer.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Basic mathematics and computer literacy.
• Experience with welding, instrumentation, and controls is an asset.
• Hands‑on experience with lathe and mill machining.
