Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance, and equipment modifications on production lines and facility assets. Work is carried out in compliance with food safety, health and safety, and maintenance administrative procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all planned maintenance (preventive & predictive) and log activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Diagnose breakdowns, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement countermeasures.
• Provide on‑floor support, including off‑shift and weekend coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop permanent solutions for equipment and process issues.
• Assist in improving work‑order processes and documenting maintenance procedures.
• Participate in small and large technical projects and perform additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• Licensed millwright (443A certification) or equivalent technician/technologist.
• Degree or diploma in maintenance/engineering, preferably with electrical, mechanical or robotics focus.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork and teaching abilities.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, procedures and regulations.
