Machine Operator

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a Canadian-owned manufacturer of roofing and building materials based in High River, Alberta, is hiring a Machine Operator. The operator sets up, runs and shuts down the ISO production line and operates the automated pallet production equipment. The work is in a fast-paced, hot manufacturing environment, with a rotating two-week schedule and a 40-hour week.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and shut down the ISO production line and the automated pallet production equipment
• Feed raw materials properly, resolve line stoppages and clear equipment jams
• Keep finished products within quality specifications and document quality checks at regular intervals
• Complete health and safety pre-start checklists and follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Document production numbers and downtime contributors
• Operate a forklift safely and maintain a 5S work area
• Participate in continuous improvement and work well in a manufacturing team

Required profile

• Forklift operator license required; previous manufacturing experience is an asset
• Mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn and proven ability to take initiative
• Good verbal and written communication skills and basic computer literacy
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, hot environment
• Seeking long-term employment
