Long Term Occasional Kindergarten Teacher (0.8 FTE)

About the role

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join the elementary teaching team at Credit Meadows Elementary School as a Long‑Term Occasional Kindergarten Teacher (0.8 FTE). This temporary assignment covers the absence of the regular teacher and runs from September 2 2026 to June 30 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Ontario Kindergarten curriculum and ensure high‑quality instruction.
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
• Manage classroom environment, promote student well‑being, and uphold Board policies and Ministry standards.
• Collaborate with the principal and support staff, and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers.

Required profile

• Valid Primary/Kindergarten teaching certification and QECO rating.
• Relevant teaching experience in an elementary setting.
• Ability to work the specified schedule (Days 1‑2 mornings, Days 3‑5 full days).
• Eligibility to work in Ontario and willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Kindergarten curriculum.
• Effective lesson planning and classroom management techniques.
• Proficiency in student assessment and reporting.
