About the role

The Durham District School Board is seeking a Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) elementary teacher for Grade 5/6 on a modified calendar. This full‑time (1.0 FTE) position offers the opportunity to create a vibrant, inclusive classroom where students thrive and develop a love for learning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Grade 5/6 students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Ontario Teaching Certificate (OCT) in good standing.
• Junior qualification for Grade 5/6 (Modified Calendar).
• Full‑time availability (1.0 FTE).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation.
