Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

We are seeking a reliable long haul truck driver to transport goods across national and international routes. The role involves operating both straight and articulated trucks, often in challenging mountain terrain, as part of a two‑person team or convoy. Drivers will be responsible for ensuring cargo safety and compliance with all permits.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain special permits for international cargo transport.
• Drive straight or articulated trucks on long‑distance routes, including mountain roads.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip vehicle inspections, checking tires, lights, brakes and cold‑storage equipment.
• Conduct emergency roadside repairs and ensure vehicle condition throughout the journey.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with central dispatch and secure cargo with tarping.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of long haul driving experience, preferably in mountain terrain.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence with Air Brakes endorsement.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
