About the role
The long haul truck driver will plan and adjust routes, load and unload freight, conduct vehicle inspections, and maintain accurate trip records while ensuring safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes using computer‑based systems and GPS navigation to minimise fuel use and emissions.
- Load and unload goods, handling heavy loads safely.
- Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other equipment before, during and after trips.
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption in the driver logbook.
- Address customer complaints or concerns promptly.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 1 to less than 7 months of relevant driving experience.
- Valid passport and basic security clearance.
- Criminal record check, driver’s licence validity and clean driving abstract.
- Ability to handle physically demanding, repetitive tasks and heavy loads.
Required skills
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems.
- Computer‑based route planning.
