Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Karan Overseas Ltd. is seeking reliable long‑haul truck drivers to join a two‑person team delivering dry‑bulk freight across North America and beyond. You will operate straight or articulated tractors, handle international permits, and ensure cargo is safely secured for each trip.

Key responsibilities

• Drive straight or articulated trucks on long‑haul and cross‑border routes as part of a convoy.
• Load, unload, and tarp cargo, maintaining safety and security of goods.
• Obtain and manage special permits and trans‑border documentation.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip vehicle inspections, including brakes, tires, lights, and cold‑storage equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, brake adjustments, and emergency roadside repairs.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Complete driver logbooks, bill of lading, accident/incident reports, and dangerous‑goods occurrence reports.
• Communicate with central dispatch and relay trip information.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s licence with willingness to travel internationally and overnight.
• Physically demanding work; ability to sit for long periods and perform manual tasks.
• Judgement, hardworking attitude, and flexibility for evening, night, weekend, and flexible hours.

Required skills

• Operate straight and articulated trucks.

• Perform vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Handle cargo loading, unloading, and tarping.
• Complete driver logbooks and transport documentation (bill of lading, incident reports, dangerous‑goods reports).
• Perform emergency roadside repairs and brake adjustments.
