Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Rapid Haulers Inc is looking for a reliable long haul truck driver to join its two‑person team operating straight or articulated trucks across Alberta and beyond. You will be responsible for transporting goods safely, maintaining vehicle condition, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy to transport goods and materials.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold‑storage equipment.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and report any issues to central dispatch.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Secure cargo with tarping and ensure safety and security throughout the journey.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and relay information as needed.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school diploma) or equivalent.
• Physically demanding work with prolonged periods of sitting.
• Excellent oral communication, flexibility, organization, reliability, and teamwork.
• Willingness to be trained on company procedures.

Required skills

• Valid Class 1 or A commercial driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of driver logbook documentation and inspection reports.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
