Long Haul Truck Driver – Alberta

About the role

GILL'Z TRANSPORT LTD is seeking a reliable long haul truck driver to join its team in Edmonton. You will be responsible for transporting goods across long distances while ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and other navigation tools to minimize fuel consumption and emissions.
• Load, secure, and unload flatbed cargo, including tarping and handling up to 23 kg items.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections, oversee vehicle condition, and conduct emergency roadside repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel usage.
• Obtain required permits and documentation for international routes and manage bill of lading and driver logbooks.
• Communicate with central dispatch and address customer concerns professionally.

Required profile

• AZ class licence with Air Brake (Z) endorsement and a valid Class 1 or A driver’s licence.
• Experience of 1‑7 months in long‑haul or flatbed trucking.
• Ability to work physically demanding schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Organised, reliable, and a strong team player.

Required skills

• Proficient use of GPS navigation and other routing equipment.
• Flatbed truck operation and cargo securing techniques.
• Knowledge of bill of lading, driver logbook, and inspection reporting.
