Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Full-time & Casual Positions

About the role

Join the Coast family as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working in retirement homes and long‑term care facilities across Nova Scotia. The position offers a supportive, inclusive environment with learning opportunities and a variety of shift options.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily nursing tasks within the scope of practice defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
• Complete documentation, charting, incident reports and use the Point Click Care system for resident information.
• Administer medications according to care plans and medication administration records (MAR) and document appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee and organizational data.
• Collaborate with family members, health‑care providers and management to develop and adjust care plans.
• Respond immediately to emergencies involving residents or staff.
• Supervise other staff on duty when required and provide end‑of‑shift reports.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
• Completion of a basic LPN program that includes Pharmacology or an approved Pharmacology course.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Experience working with seniors is an asset.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team and under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

Required skills

• Pharmacology knowledge.
• First Aid certification.
• CPR certification.
• Proficiency with Point Click Care software.
