About the role
Join Coast’s family as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing compassionate care to seniors in retirement homes and long‑term care facilities across Nova Scotia. The role offers full‑time and casual shifts with a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out nursing tasks within the scope of practice defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
- Administer medications according to the care plan and MAR, documenting all actions in Point Click Care.
- Complete resident documentation, incident reports and charting accurately.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations, making informed decisions under pressure.
- Supervise other staff when required and provide end‑of‑shift reports.
- Collaborate with families and health‑care providers to develop and adjust care plans.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing and completed pharmacology coursework.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Experience working with seniors is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
Required skills
- Medication administration.
- Use of Point Click Care electronic health record system.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Pharmacology knowledge.
